Ten Dumb Facebook Come-ons

Omg1I am a sucker for Facebook links to cute animal videos and I tolerate a good deal of ridicule as a result. What I can barely tolerate, though, are the ridiculous headlines designed to increase numbers of viewers. I am no longer opening links that begin with….

1. You’ll cry tears of joy!
2. Wait ‘til you see…..
3. Most ____(fill in the blank)____ever!
4. You have to see what happens next!
5. Restore your faith in humanity!

As well as over-the-top adjectives:

6. Cuddliest
7. Funniest
8. Greatest
9. Most Hysterical
10. Perfect

Mom's keyboardNOTE: Last week’s blog (Writing Anxiety) didn’t go out to all the subscribers in the usual way due to my imperfect understanding of Word Press. Therefore, I’m sending it out again at the bottom of this page, along with an explanatory cartoon provided by my son (Thank you, Ben.)
